Life After Juicing | It’s The Transparency For Me Sis
Ok boom, let’s address the elephant in the room......ME! (Lol, just kidding)
If you’ve been following me for a while you know I juiced a few months ago. The duration of my cleanse was 40 days resulting in a total of 30 pounds of weight loss. I shared with you all how I planned to transition into a vegan lifestyle in hopes of keeping the weight off. Well, guess what? That was a fail, I gained the weight back chile. Yes! Total bummer right?

For complete transparency my weight has been up and down all of my life. However, I’ve always loved myself whether a size 14 or size 10. *inserts hair flip*
Yet, I’m human...... sometimes I can allow what society deems the perfect body type to force me into the these extreme cleanses; in hopes of quick results & a hot picture to post on Instagram, smh. Instead I should be embracing the fact that it’s a marathon, not a sprint when aiming to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Nonetheless, you live and you learn while on your journey, yes?

So what exactly happened, you may ask. After 40 days of juicing I couldn’t wait to chew on something! My first meal was a fruit plate and yallll that fruit tasted like a gourmet meal to someone who hadn’t consumed any solid food in over a month. The first two weeks I maintained a vegan lifestyle then out of no where I started craving things I hadn’t craved in years, lemon pepper wings, oxtails, chick-fil-a, zaxbys etc. Bare in mind before the cleanse I was a pescatarian so I have no clue as to where chicken and oxtail cravings derived from. In addition to that, I was bit idle due to this never ending pandemic it seems we’re in. When boredom kicks in I typically start snacking. Needless to say I wasn’t thinking about a vegan lifestyle anymore. Juicing was still a staple in my diet for breakfast but during the evenings, not so much. I mean I fell back into old bad habits, watching Netflix & just munching on whatever I could.

Here we are months later, and I’m having to start over on my health journey. It’s okay though because as Aaliyah said “If at first you don’t succeed, pick yourself up and try again”
On Monday, March 1, 2021, I decided to start fresh. I’ve been juicing since then and so far so good. Though things are going to be a little different this time. I’m pretty disciplined once I set my mind to something but I’m not juicing for a long period of time as I did before. I’m aimed for 10 days max and incorporated blending fruits & veggies for smoothies to assist with not feeling deprived of hunger. In my opinion smoothies fill you up a tad bit more than juice.
I’ve also started working out as I haven’t done so in a while. I try to do 1 hour of cardio by walking and jogging around my neighborhood. Eventually, I would like to progress to running everyday, but baby steps.... I ain’t that in shape yet! Lol.
I write this this vlog to give you some encouragement. It’s okay to fall, just don’t stay there. Everyone’s journey has its peaks and its lows, we must push through though. I’m also looking for accountability partners, feel free to reach out to me if you need help on your health journey. We’re in this together! Plus, this summer, we OUTSIDE!
Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel for vlogs documenting this process. As always, thanks for stopping by! See you next time!
With Love,
